— My Journey with Journaling.
Hi everyone, I’m Cassandra,
and today I want to share something that’s been a big part of my life — my journaling habit.
Every night before bed, I sit down and write in my journal.
It’s something I’ve been doing for years — partly because it’s already a long-term habit, but also because I truly feel that our life journey is beautiful, and I want to record every little moment of it.
How It All Started
I began journaling when I was in middle school.
There was a girl in my class whose writing was absolutely amazing.
One day, I asked her how I could improve my own writing skills.
She told me something simple yet powerful:
“Start by writing a diary every day — even if it’s just one sentence.”
So that’s what I did.
My very first entries were literally one-line journals, like:
“Today was a good day.”
But as time went on, I found myself writing more and more.
I would lock myself in a small room, play a bit of soft music, and just pour my thoughts out onto paper.
It felt like I was emptying my mind and filling my heart.
The Magic of Writing Things Down
Something magical happens when I write.
In daily life, I’m often just doing things — running around, working, talking — but not really listening to my inner voice.
When I journal, I finally slow down and hear what’s really inside me.
It helps me untangle my thoughts, and understand what I truly feel and want.
Especially when I feel lost, anxious, or sad — journaling becomes my quiet therapy.
It’s the place where I can calm my mind and be honest with myself.
And honestly, the process makes me genuinely happy.
It’s my favorite form of stress relief — no matter what happens, I always feel lighter after writing.
The Beauty of Looking Back
The particular notebook I’m using — it started as a brand-new, blank journal.
Now, it’s already half full.
Time flies so fast!
Let me share what I wrote on the very first page:
“June 25, 2025 — I’m on my road back home, I want to stay in my best state.”
When I read that now, I can feel how much I was encouraging myself back then.
Sometimes my journal entries are full of little pep talks:
“Cassandra, you can do it.”
“There’s no right choice — only making your choice right.”
These are small messages to my future self.
Writing them down feels comforting and powerful.
Why Journaling Feels So Healing
The beauty of keeping a journal isn’t just about having pages and pages of notes.
It’s about the timeline of your growth.
When you look back at what you wrote years ago, you see how much you’ve changed — and survived.
Every notebook captures a different stage of my life:
the things I worried about, the goals I set, the emotions I went through.
And now, when I read them again, I realize that all those moments of confusion and stress — I made it through.
There were always solutions, always new beginnings.
That’s the real happiness of journaling — seeing how far you’ve come and realizing that you’ve always been stronger than you thought.
A Small Invitation
Recently, I saw some people online start a series called “Journaling with ChicChoi — Day 1, Day 2…”
It makes me so happy to see more friends beginning this little habit.
Maybe you can try it too.
Grab a notebook, put on some quiet music, and just start — even if it’s one sentence a day.
You’ll be surprised how many new ideas and emotions flow out naturally.
Writing a journal isn’t just about recording your life.
It’s about meeting a different version of yourself.
Let’s all take a moment each day to listen to our hearts —
and live happily, calmly, and creatively. 💗
